Durban International
Durban is the third International Airport in South Africa. Tourists flying to Durban can most definitely take advantage of visiting the beautiful beaches, game parks and mountain ranges. Durban has a subtropical coastline with warm waters and some of the beaches to visit include Umhlanga Rocks, Ballito, Uvongo and Margate.
The Drakensberg Mountain Range (3 050 m high) is on the border with Lesotho. It has been declared as a World Heritage site in 2000. These mountain ranges are the highest in the country and has the most spectacular waterfalls and peaks, ideal for hiking and fly-fishing. Don’t forget to visit the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Park, where you can spot the big 5.
Visit the Tugela-River where bloody wars took place between the Boer and Zulu’s, British and Zulu’s as well as the Boer and British. Make sure you don’t miss out on swimming with the dolphins! The Dolphin Coast stretches from Umhlanga Rocks to the mouth of the Tugela to include Ballito and Salt Rock.
